Bueña is a municipality turolense that belongs to the Jiloca region. It has a population of 110 inhabitants. Town is placed to a 1213 meters altitude over sea level and the distance for highway with cardinal Teruel of province is 60 kilometers.
Placed on the southern hillside of a mount, in the saw Palomera, it is structured
in four nuclei:
- The quarter of the castle
- The quarter of the hillside
- The quarter of the source
- The quarter of the Calvary
In his city center we will find interesting buildings, like her parochial church of the Asunción of Our Lady, raised in 1667. Low bodies and the Superior presents a tower of square plant and masonry in two , octogonal and of brick, finished off for a capital. Inside the temple a statue survives Romanesque late of the Virgin with the Child, of the XIIIth century.
Another out-standing element is the chapel of San Vicente Mártir, of XVIth century.
The municipality of Bueña is an area considered point of interest geologically (PIG) on a global scale. A surprising one presents deposit paleontológico of megaplanolites ibericus, some of major icnitas, or fossil traces, of the world:
"Official bulletin of the Spanish Parliament of Aragon:
In the municipal terms of Murero and of Bueña two find very important deposits that are related in the Inventory of Points of Geologic Interest of Aragon.
The deposit of the Boulevard of Valdemiedes, in the municipal term of Murero, represents the best laundering of the Cambrian period (first of the age of the Paleozoico), moment in which one produces to herself extraordinary diversification of the groups of living beings multicellular. Also, the profiles that find in this one deposit are the best representation of Cambrian limit interior - way possibly at level of the whole Spanish State. grade of conservation of this deposit is regular and it does not have physical protection, by what he is submitted to a pillaging constant and continued in the time.
The Megaplanolites deposit, in the municipal Bueña term, is composed by a fossil track of big size, more big of The Spanish State, which shows affinity with the genre planolites; for his size difference with the totality of the planolites, there is considered his definition by means of a new genre, called Megaplanolites. It belongs to the Jurassic period and to the age of Mesozoico. It is in an excellent conservation grade, but it finds in foreseeable risk of natural destruction, for erosion of the cárcava in which it is placed.
Both deposits are of big importance, of international status and they present a high scientific and didactic interest. This importance of the deposits, as well as his conservation grade, advise to take measurements tending to his physical and administrative protection, as well as to initiate the precise actions to promote his use scientific and didactically.
On the other hand, the project of Dinópolis, which up to the date only includes references paleontológicas of areas turolenses, groups initiatives into which these two deposits can integrate of Murero and Bueña.
Given the target that the ours wealth paleontológica of territory does not disappear and expediency of which it does not disintegrate in minor projects, which can harm his projection, it presents the following one
PROPOSITION NOT OF LAW
The Spanish Parliament urges the Government of Aragon to link and include them deposits paleontológicos of the Boulevard of Valdemiedes, in Murero, and of Megaplanolites, of Bueña, in the Dinópolis project.
Saragossa, on February 28, 2002." (ftes to see links)
